Pet Food
Donations of pet food (especially cat) is always appreciated. We provide food for our four legged friends, whenever possible.
Animal companions may be the only source of unconditional love for many people who have fallen on hard times; unfortunately, they are often the victims of economic difficulties. Animal shelters today are seeing an increase in surrenders due to foreclosures and job loss. For many of the families with four legged members in their household that we assist, it has been a godsend for them to be able to have animal food to feed their beloved pets.
Our pet food program attempts to provide food bags for dogs and cats. Cats also receive litter when available, and all animals receive whatever products are on hand to assist in their care.
We believe this program decreases the number of animals abandoned and therefore lightens the load for animal agencies and the community in general. When an animal is surrendered, everyone loses, and often, those affected most are children. By providing pet food, we hope animals will be able to remain in their cherished role as a vital member of the family.
