The Sumner Community Food Bank is operated by caring volunteers! Some give a few, while others spend numerous hours of their time. We appreciate and thank all our volunteers who bring a dedication and positive energy to the food bank and our clients on a daily basis.

Volunteer Roles and Descriptions

Inventory Sorting & Stocking

Monday - Saturday 8:00am-12:00pm

Help sort, package, and table incoming donations. Maintain inventory storage, stock client store, and process incoming donations.

Monday - Sunday 8:00am-12:00pm
Drive a food bank vehicle (or your own) to pick up donations from local businesses. Must provide copy of drivers license & insurance, and have a good driving record.

Forklift Operator
Monday - Saturday On Call: 9:00am-3:00pm

Drive food bank forklit to load/unload pallets of donations from box trucks, vans, or semi-trucks and place for storage.

Client Services (Feeder)

Monday - Wednesday and Friday 11:30am-3:00pm

Thursday 4:30pm-7:00pm

Help clients shop at food bank store. Must have a compassionate and friendly attitude; treating clients respectfully and without judgement. 

Office Support

Monday - Friday 9:00am-11:00am

Inventory record keeping, reporting, and general office support. MS Word, Excel, and computer experience needed.
